Ohio Department of Natural Resources Summer Internships

ODNR offers hands-on, mission-driven summer internships across Ohio, giving students the chance to explore careers in conservation, science, education, law enforcement, communications, and more. Interns play a direct role in protecting Ohio’s natural resources — including forests, rivers, wildlife, and geological features — while gaining professional experience in a supportive and inclusive environment.

The ODNR features opportunities for more than just science majors:

• Of course: environmental science, biology, geology, forestry, and wildlife

• Engineering and GIS

• Communications, media, and graphic design

• Outdoor education, recreation, and naturalist roles

• Criminal justice and public safety
