Leigh Mascolino
Director of Career Connection

Leigh oversees the Career Connection office, supervises staff, and provides strategic leadership in the OWU Career Connection program. She provides individualized career coaching to students and establishes rapport with staff, faculty, employers, and Alumni to expand job prospects and graduate/professional opportunities for OWU students.
Leigh has a B.A. in Psychology from Ohio State and an M.S./Ed.S. in Career Counseling from Florida State, where she was trained under the Cognitive Information Processing (CIP) theory. She is a Certified Professional Career Coach (CPCC), a Certified Professional Resume Writer (CPRW), National Certified Counselor (NCC), a Certified Strengths Coach, and an MBTI Certified Practitioner. Leigh served as President of the Ohio Career Development Association and has most recently worked as the Manager of Career Services in the College of Pharmacy at Ohio State.
Carolyn Lammert

As Assistant Director, Career Catalyst Program and Liaison for the Economics and Business Department, Carolyn is responsible for educating students about career resources and connecting them to great internship and job opportunities with the ultimate goal of preparing them for life after OWU!
Carolyn has a Bachelor’s Degree in Interpersonal and Public Communication from Bowling Green State University and a Master of Labor and Human Resources from The Ohio State University. She has a wealth of experience in multi-level corporate recruiting, student advising and internship program management.

As a Career Catalyst (Careers with Social Impact), Newton works with students to help connect them to socially charged careers that align with their personal mission. Utilizing the amazing tools in the Career Connection office, Newton creates and maintains connections with students and employers to help ensure quality experiences for students, both pre and post-graduation, as well as quality and qualified candidates for employers.
Newton has a Bachelor’s Degree in Sociology from Ohio Wesleyan University and a Master’s Degree in Public Administration from Cleveland State University. Prior to returning to OWU, Newton worked as an Academic/College Advisor with I Know I Can and as the Development Associate for TECH CORPS.
Mindy Agin

Mindy coaches students on internship success strategies, career exploration, and networks with employers to develop internship opportunities. She leads the Bishop Launch Program, an intern development program designed to help students become confident, competent and competitive internship and job seekers. She is available to meet with students of any major.
Prior to joining OWU, Mindy worked for 10 years as a Career Strategist in the Career and Workforce Development Program at Jewish Family Services in Columbus, OH. Mindy holds a BA in Judaic Studies and Political Science from Emory University and an MS in Human Resources Management from the New School for Social Research in NYC, NY. Mindy is a Certified Professional Resume Writer and member of the National Association of Colleges and Employers (NACE).
Sophie Leohner '25
Career Connection Office Manager
Sophie is responsible for helping the Career Connection office manage daily tasks and collaborate with the Career Connection team to strategize and execute marketing campaigns. These campaigns are designed to reach the Ohio Wesleyan community and help inform potential students about what Career Connection can do for them. Sophie also serves as the Co-Athletic Representative to help collegiate athletes leverage their athletic experience to help them succeed professionally.
Sophie graduated from Ohio Wesleyan University in 2025 with a B.A. in Marketing and a minor in Psychology. She was also a member of the Ohio Wesleyan Women’s Varsity Softball team. She is passionate about expressing Career Connection’s message and resources through marketing strategies, connecting with others, and providing information to help students develop into their best personal and professional selves.
Kayla Montanaro
STEM & Pre-Health Career Catalyst
As a Career Catalyst for STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) & Pre-Health students, Kayla is eager to help students with their college to career journey by educating students on resources offered by the Career Connection Office and helping them secure internship, research, and job opportunities in addition to assisting with graduate school applications, resumes, networking strategies, and interviewing skills.
Kayla also serves as the Co-Athletic Representative within the Career Connection Office aiming to help collegiate athletes leverage their athletic experience to help them succeed professionally.
Kayla brings nearly 4 years of experience in career services to OWU and most recently worked at Otterbein University as a Career Advisor. In January of 2025, she obtained a certificate through the NCDA to become a Certified Career Service Provider to expand her knowledge to help students in their career journey. Kayla earned her B.A. in Psychology at Hiram College while playing on the Women’s Basketball team and continued her education at Goucher College where she earned her M.Ed. in Educational Leadership.
