Event & Program Accessibility
The OWU Career Connection team is committed to making events and programs accessible to all students. Through a partnership with OWU Counseling Services, and OWU Accessibility Services, the Career Connection Team is in the process of implementing the following:
Located during the fall & spring Career Fairs in the hallway outside of the Benes Rooms; ear plugs and a white noise machine with space to process opportunities will be available.
In partnership with OWU Accessibility Services and Counseling Services, an ‘Event Accessibility Checklist’ is being drafted for approval for all events across campus. This will include items such as utilizing Closed-Captions (CC) for virtual events, providing maps/other relevant information in advance of events, etc. Once approved and finalized, this will be distributed to all departments across campus.
The Career Connection team offers courses, appointments, and events and strives to create an inclusive and accommodating environment. Requests are regularly honored in the classroom, and we welcome additional requests at careers@owu.edu or to the specific host of the Career Connection-related opportunity.
