Feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or a bit clueless when it comes to thinking about careers or majors? Do you get anxious when asked “if you choose that major, what are you going to do with it?”

If you’ve answered “yes” to one or more of these questions, consider registering for “Harness the Power of YOU” – a 5 week career exploration program offered during Spring semester and facilitated by Mindy Agin, Assistant Director of Career Planning and Exploration.

Harness the Power of You (HPU) meets weekly from 12-1 (lunch provided) over the course of 5 weeks. You will develop wandering maps, hear professionals discuss their career journeys (e.g. when their majors did not sound like job titles), de-stress the career fair experience, and identify personal motivators and set goals.

At the end of 5 weeks, students will:

  1. Discover new, empowering information about themselves and their strengths and how to articulate it to others
  2. Gain a better sense of focus and direction 
  3. Begin to identify transferable skills that come from different majors and can expand career options 
  4. Create achievable goals to move forward with confidence
