Denison Edge: The Business of Sports Accelerator

This comprehensive program on Sports Marketing provides students with an in-depth understanding of the dynamic and rapidly evolving field of sports marketing. The program covers the fundamental principles of marketing within the sports industry, including key concepts, strategies, and real-world applications used by teams, leagues, and brands worldwide. Through engaging case studies and hands-on learning experiences, students will explore the critical elements of sports marketing, from fan engagement to sponsorships and event promotions. By the end of the program, students will have developed knowledge of the fast-paced world of sports marketing, equipped with the tools to drive fan engagement, create impactful partnerships, and market live events effectively. Instructor: Scott BaileyScott Bailey is the Director of National Sales at Playfly Sports, where he manages the college and high school sports division. In this role, he works with more than 30 collegiate athletic properties, including Auburn, LSU, Michigan State, Nebraska, Penn State, and Texas A&;M, as well as more than 20 high school state athletic associations across the country. A highly accomplished revenue generator with more than 35 years of experience in the sports industry, Scott has built his career in ticket sales, sponsorship development, and partnership strategy. Throughout his career, he has held sales and partnership roles with the Columbus Blue Jackets, Cleveland Cavaliers, Cleveland Indians, the Professional Bowlers Association (PBA), the Big Ten Conference, and the Mid-American Conference.Scott brings real-world industry insights into the classroom, helping students understand the evolving landscape of sports business and careers in the industry. Schedule: Thursdays, 6/4-6/25 from 6:30-8:30pm
