This four-week course builds on foundational AI knowledge, focusing on hands-on and practical applications of AI and Generative AI. This program is designed for those ready to leverage AI responsibly to drive impact, business insights, and strategic innovation. Explore a survey of tools that support data-driven decision-making through visualization, analytics, and predictive modeling. Build understanding with in-class demos that evolve into take-home exercises for continued exploration and application. Gain hands-on experience with Generative AI tools that enhance productivity and enable efficiency, developing practical skills ranging from prompt engineering to custom GPT creation. Instructor: Lauren Burke-McCarthyLauren Burke-McCarthy is a Senior Data Science Lead, Strategy at Further. Previously a Data Scientist at CoverMyMeds, Lauren built models and systems to improve understanding of user needs, enhance products, and discover opportunities. She began her data science career in the retail space, developing solutions across several areas including supply chain, inventory management, and enterprise business. Lauren is the Director of Operations of Women in Analytics, where her primary focus lies in strategy and community growth. She also hosts the WIA After Hours podcast. Lauren serves as a Core Advisor on the Midwest Big Data Hub’s Community Advisory Panel, a member of TECH CORPS’ Regional Steering Committee, Chair of COSI’s KINETIC Board, and a founding member of scikit-learn’s Communication Team.
